IGI FULLY REFINED PARAFFIN WAXES
Straight paraffin with no additives.

IGI 2281 (formerly IGI 941)

IGI 2281 is a 124* melt point straight paraffin wax suitable for making container candles. IGI 2281 is a scale wax that is very soft when compared to other similar straight paraffin products. This wax makes both excellent burning and smelling candles and will provide the user with a smooth and creamy finish depending on what is added to the wax. Because straight paraffin waxes are completely customizable they are an excellent choice for almost any candle maker!

Instructions for Use:
Heat wax to 180-190*. Once wax reaches desired temp, add your dye, blend well then add fragrance and again blend well. This wax should be poured between 175-185* into heated containers and cooled as slow as possible for optimal adhesion to glass and to minimize shrinking. It is advisable to poke relief holes around the wick of the candle once the wax has become solid but is still pliable.

After the first pour has cooled, reheat your reserved wax from your first pour and refill the void (sink hole) in the candle until you reach the level of the first pour. You will want your second pour to be 10* hotter than your first pour to minimize lines from the second pour. Repeat the repour process as necessary.

To make a smooth opaque creamy looking candle add Vybar 260 at the rate of 1/2 tsp per lb of wax.

Adding additives like Soy Wax, Petrolatum, Crisco etc will all create varied results. Experimentation to determine what works best for you will be necessary when using straight paraffin waxes. There is far more versatility in a straight paraffin than a production blend.
NOTE: Unlike BCN's IGI 2281, this wax does NOT mottle. Although made by the same company, they are made in different plants and do not tend to perform exactly alike.

IGI 1343

IGI 1343 is a 138* melt point straight paraffin wax. This wax was originally designed to make the core candle and over dip for Cut and Curl or Cut and Carve candles because of it's excellent pliability and beautiful translucency. It can be used to make excellent pillar candles, wax melts, votive candles and works beautifully for wax dipping plush critters as well! This wax can be used in most any candle application! This wax when used alone with no additional additives like vybar will in most cases make a beautiful mottled candle. The addition of vybar will allow for a beautiful smooth creamy candle. This is probably one of the most versatile waxes on the market today.

Instructions for Use:
Heat
wax to 190-200*. Once wax reaches desired temp, add your dye, blend well then add fragrance and again blend well. This wax should be poured between 185-195* into heated molds to minimize skip lines. You will want your second pour to be 10* hotter than your first pour to minimize lines from the second pour. Repeat the repour process as necessary. To make a rustic finished candle, do not heat the molds and pour the wax at 165*.

To make a mottled/rustic candle, simply use the wax and no additives or add Mottle Max™ per product instructions. To make a smooth opaque creamy looking candle add Vybar 103 at the rate of 1/2 tsp per lb of wax.

Adding additives like Stearic Acid, Gloss Poly, Mineral Oil etc will all create varied results. Experimentation to determine what works best for you will be necessary when using straight paraffin waxes. There is far more versatility in a straight paraffin than a production blend.

NOTE: This wax is not guaranteed to mottle. It typically will, however it is not a designated mottle wax. The current shipment of wax, 10/2012 some people are reporting it will not mottle consistently. Please be aware of this when ordering.

IGI PRE-BLENDED WAXES
Our Pre-Blended Waxes already contain all necessary additives!  All you need to add is color, fragrance oil and UV Inhibitor.

IGI Paraflex 4786

IGI 4786 is an excellent pre-blend paraffin container wax. 4786 will require multiple pours to achieve level a surface. In most applications allowing the candle to cool completely after the first pour and doing a second pour will yield a level candle surface. In extra large containers, a third pour may be necessary. Good adherence to container wall can be obtained under optimal pour conditions. Suitable for hotter climates. As with all candles, you will need to protect against temperature fluctuations during transport and storage. 4786 will hold up to a 9% fragrance load and has excellent hot and cold scent throw. IGI 4786 has a smooth, creamy and opaque appearance and will have a matte finish.

IGI Paraflex 4786 Melt Point: 124 °F Container Pre-Blend Container Paraffin Wax. This wax will also work well for making wax melts, especially in our Clamshell packaging!

In a container this wax will completely pull away from the glass, excellent for those that just can not stand to see "wet spots" on their jars! Suitable for warmer climates. As with all candles, you will need to protect against temperature fluctuations during transport and storage. 4794 will hold up to a 9% fragrance load and has excellent hot and cold scent throw. IGI 4794 has a smooth, creamy and opaque appearance and will have a matte finish.

100% Natural Soy Container Candle Blend Flakes
* Exclusively at BC! *

EZ Soy Container Wax Flakes

Are you looking for a natural wax that has excellent scent throw hot and cold made from 100% soybean oil? Then Ez Soy™ may be just what you are looking for! Made from high quality, certified Kosher 100% soybean oils that are non-toxic, biodegradable & environmentally safe, Ez Soy™ is an excellent alternative to traditional paraffin waxes. EZ Soy™ works great with most fragrance and essential oils, requires no repours and has excellent adhesion to glass. EZ Soy™ wax comes in flake form and can even be melted in the microwave! Perfect for first time candle makers or larger production candle companies! Some degree of bloom or frost can occur with any soy wax, testing of fragrances and dyes as well as pouring temps can in some cases decrease or eliminate this. EZ Soy™ is manufactured in the USA from soybeans grown right here in America! Soy waxes produce little to no black soot when made and burned properly. EZ Soy™ will hold up to a 10% fragrance load however we have had the best hot scent throw results using 6%.

EZ Soy™ Melt Point: 125 °F Container Candle Soy Wax. This wax is suitable for making wax melts and votive candles following the instructions below. EZ Soy™ can NOT be used to make free standing pillar or molded candles.

Instructions for Use:
Heat
EZ Soy™ to 175-180*. Add your dye and blend well, then add your fragrance and blend well. Allow the wax to cool to about 105* and start stirring. When the wax reaches a slushy stage, it looks similar to an Icee starting to warm up, pour the wax into room temperature jars. The actual pour temp of the wax is about 95* but because it is not completely fluid at this point, an internal temp is hard to achieve. Pouring hotter will result in more frosting and tops that are not completely smooth.

We recommend using chip, block, powder or flake dyes with soy waxes. Liquid dyes can cause excessive frosting due to the solvents in them. If your tops are not smooth, try pouring a touch cooler. If they are lumpy try a bit warmer. It does take some trial and error testing to determine the exact right pour temp for you.

A starting point for testing is a CD 12 works well with most scents in an 8 oz jelly jar candle. Most any non metal core wick series will work well in soy. We suggest sample packs of wicks for testing to find what works best for you! Zinc core wicks are not recommended for use in soy wax.

EZ Soy™ can also be used for votive candles and wax melts. To use as a votive be sure to add mold release to the wax or use mold release in the molds when using metal molds. Our silicone molds are an excellent alternative for soy wax users as it will not stick! Add about 5 TBSP per lb of wax Stearic Acid to harden the wax for tarts and votives.

EcoSoya CB Advanced

EcoSoya® CB-Advanced Soy has extreme resistance to bloom (white frosting) and “wet spots”. It contracts slightly to produce a uniform beautiful appearance, requires only one pour, has good scent throw with fragrances*, and a creamy white appearance.

EcoSoya® CB-Advanced Soy is made from pure soybeans and carefully selected botanical oils. Candles made with CB-Advanced Soy resist frosting, have a smooth top surface and an even smooth burn pool with consistent color retention. A maximum fragrance load of 12% is possible.

EcoSoya® CB-Advanced Soy Melt Point: 111 °F Container Candle Soy Wax. This wax is quite soft and is not recommended for votives or melts that are not packaged in the clamshell molds.

Instructions for Use:
Heat wax to 175-190*, add dye (liquid dyes are not recommended for use in soy wax but block, chips, flakes and powders make exceptional colorants for soy.) and blend well, add fragrance and again blend well. We recommend adding scent between 150-175* for best results.

Pour temperatures will vary according to container type and size, fragrance and dye, and the effects you want to achieve. CB-Advanced Soy can be poured as low as 100° F (37.8° C) if the wax is kept in motion (constant mixing) until poured. There is a difference in cooling rates for different container configurations. Cooling too quickly or too slowly can cause concaving and/or frosting. Large jars such as the apothecary configurations and large candles above 8 oz (237 ml) in size cool slower and require lower pour temperatures, about 125°F (51.7°C) or lower. Smaller candles (less than 8 oz (237 ml)) and metal/tin containers cool fast, requiring a higher pour temperature of about 155°F (68.3°C). If difficulties are experienced with your pour temperatures, try a lower or higher temperature in increments of 10°F (6°C). *Pour temperatures should be checked and confirmed according to seasonal changes.

*EcoSoya® CB-Advanced Soy is a bit more selective with fragrances. It may require a bit more testing to find the scents that work exceptionally well but once those scents are found, this wax has excellent fragrance throw both hot and cold.

EcoSoya CB 135

EcoSoya® CB-135 has excellent adhesion to containers without preheating, requires only one pour, has an excellent scent throw with both fragrances and essential oils and a creamy white appearance with some potential to bloom (white frosting) when using dyes.

EcoSoya® CB-135 is made from pure 100% soybeans and carefully selected botanical oils. Candles made with CB-135 have a soft creamy appearance and a smooth flat top surface. Candles made with CB-135 may produce frosting. Ships well in all climates. A maximum fragrance load of 12% is possible

EcoSoya® CB-135 Melt Point: 122 °F Container Candle Soy Wax. This wax will also release well from a votive mold and will work well for making wax melts.

Instructions for Use:
Heat
wax to 175-190*, add dye (liquid dyes are not recommended for use in soy wax but block, chips, flakes and powders make exceptional colorants for soy) and blend well, add fragrance and again blend well. We recommend adding scent between 150-175* for best results.

EcoSoya Pillar Blend

EcoSoya® PB makes all molded candles such as votives, pillars, tarts, etc. It has excellent scent throw working best with fragrances and is self-releasing from molds.

EcoSoya® PB is made from pure 100% soybeans and carefully selected botanical oils. Candles made with EcoSoya™ PB have a creamy appearance and ship well in all climates.

EcoSoya® Pillar Blend (PB) Melt Point: 130 °F Molded Candle Soy Wax. This wax is designed specifically for molded candles. This wax is not suitable for making container candles but excellent results are achieved when using this wax for free standing pillar candles and votive candles.

Instructions for Use:
Heat
wax to 175-190*, add dye (liquid dyes are not recommended for use in soy wax but block, chips, flakes and powders make exceptional colorants for soy) and blend well, add fragrance and again blend well. We recommend adding scent between 160-175* for best results. Short term high temperatures (such as 190°F) have no adverse effect on the wax, as long as the wax is quickly cooled down. Please note that temperatures higher than 190°F may cause the wax to discolor.

Pour temperatures may vary according to mold type and size, fragrance and dye used and the effects you want to achieve. Add scent and mix at a high temperature or immediately before pouring. If you experience difficulty in pouring, adjust the pour temperature in increments of 10°F. Some waxes require tapping the mold while pouring to prevent bubbles, but EcoSoya® PB does not produce bubbles when poured.

PB Double-Pour: Two pours are required when using with larger candles (such as 3 – 4 inch pillars). Pour the first measure of wax at 155°F to fill the mold to the top and allow the candle to cool until it is warm with a congealed center and no liquid. When the top of the mold (bottom of the candle) has “skinned” over and left a void inside, poke two holes into the candle near the wick and pour a second time at 145°F. Do not pour past the solidified wax of the first pour; in essence you are “filling” the first pour. Cool at room temperature. Note: other cooling techniques used with paraffin have similar effects.

Making
Votives with PB: Pour the first measure of wax at 155°F by filling the mold within 1/8 inch from the top. Allow the candle to cool until it is warm with a congealed center and no liquid. When the top of the candle has "skinned" over, poke two holes near the wick and pour a second time at 145°F to completely fill the votive mold.

Molds should be clean and at room temperature when preparing. They may need “conditioning” before using EcoSoya® soy wax. To condition, clean the mold, re-melt the wax and re-pour. Condition molds if candles do not release well after drying. *Pour temperatures should be checked and confirmed according to seasonal changes.

EcoSoya Xcel

EcoSoya® CB-XceL™ is 100% soy and molecularly blueprinted to control polymorphism.  It has extreme resistance to bloom (white frosting) and “wet spots,” while producing an excellent scent throw with fragrances.  It maintains an even burn pool with consistent color retention.

EcoSoya®  CB-XceL requires one pour and new technology allows for top surface re-melting. CB-XceL has the highest melt point of all our container waxes, enabling shipment to all climates. CB-XceL  has a maximum fragrance load of 12%.

EcoSoya® CB-XceL
Melt Point: 125 °F Container Candle Soy Wax.

Instructions for Use:
Heat wax to 175-190*, add dye (liquid dyes may cause excess frosting in soy) and blend well, add fragrance and again blend well. We recommend adding scent between 150*-175* for the best results.

It is typical for wax to solidify at the beginning of the pour during its first contact with the container.  CB-XceL
should have a pour temperature that is high enough so that when the container is full, the initial solidified wax has re-melted.  The temperature should not be so high that the liquid wax sits more than 30 minutes before starting to solidify.

Pour temperatures will vary according to container type and size, fragrance and dye, and the effects you want to achieve.  CB-XceL
can be poured as low as 107° F (41.7° C) if the wax is kept in motion (constant mixing) until poured.

There is a difference in cooling rates for different container configurations.  Cooling too quickly or too slowly can cause concaving and/or frosting.  Large jars, such apothecaries and large candles, above 12 oz (356 ml), should be poured at about 155°F (68.3°C).  Smaller candles of 12oz (356 ml) or less should be poured at 130°F (54.4°C).  If there are any occurrences with frosting, lower the pour temperature in increments of 10°F (6°C).  Conversely, if there are any imperfections in the candle top, raise the pour temperature in increments of 10°F (6°C).  The goal is to balance the pour temperature to achieve optimal results.  Candle tops may be re-melted as required.

When candles are poured at a lower temperature (about 110°F (43.3°C)), add the scent at a higher temperature (about 140°F (60°C)) and allow the wax to cool to the desired pour temperature.
Pour temperatures should be checked and confirmed according to seasonal changes .
